Dynamic Connection Strings

Posted on 15 September 2016
A staggering 96% of those surveyed by application platform, KnowledgeKube, identified that more than a quarter of their processes were inefficient.

Connections to data providers are typically static, meaning that when your application first connects to a data source, it only knows how to connect to that particular set of data for the remainder of the session. Now, thanks to the new SetConnectionProperty and UpdateConnectionString functions, you can dynamically alter a connection string during run-time.

By using these new functions, you can temporarily override the default properties of a connection string, letting you access the data with user-defined credentials, identify a separate data set, and much more besides. These changes will only affect the current session, as the connection string will revert to its default properties the next time you load the application.
