Disruptive innovation

The birth of KnowledgeKube

Mercato Solutions recognised that a deepening development and engineering skills shortage was lengthening existing project delivery and restraining growth into new markets.

And with supply-demand for technical resource driving costs and business risk up, a new way of working was required.  Mercato’s development function responded with a disruptive innovation, a software platform that enabled non-programmers to create enterprise apps.

This fundamentally addressed the time, cost and risk of application development for Mercato and its customers, resetting expectations of developers within the business.

Mercato then set about recruiting ‘implementers’ not developers to use the platform, honing a proven recruitment and training process for users with no previous IT background – empowering apprentices, doormen, McDonald's, gym and call centre workers to create worldwide business apps.

This vibrant team has delivered new ways of thinking, operating and problem solving for customers.

What was internal technology has now been released as KnowledgeKube from the Cloud for business and IT end users to 'go create' enterprise apps quicker and cheaper or customers can use the KnowledgeKube implementation team to do it for them.
