Data Providers More on Data Providers

SQL Data Sources

SQL data sources can connect to existing enterprise data sources via one or more of the KnowledgeKube SQL providers. Data sources can be utilised by a single KnowledgeKube model or shared across multiple models and/or data processing packages.

SQL data sources can be linked to a table or can be composed of SQL code and joins. Alternatively you can use native SQL views or stored procedures.

Once you have created a data source you can map columns to variables within the expression engine.

A SQL data source can operate in one of two modes:-

  • Read-only (default)
  • Read-writeable

Data sources can be simple lookups or can contain complex join conditions pasted direct from SQL server DML code. KnowledgeKube provides expressions for selecting, inserting, deleting, updating and navigating records accessed through a SQL data source.

The expression engine can be used to create filters that can be applied to a data source, cascading filters and aggregate functions are also available to the filtering engine. When using SQL code you still have access to all the existing filtering and aggregate functions and can still embed keywords from the expression engine.
